Multicast Route Table

Also known as the mroute table. Before a network element can replicate and forward multicast packets, the multicast packets must be received from an upstream interface (often noted the Incoming InterFace or IIF). The mroute table stores all the relevant multicast group information such as IIF and source address. If RPF is enabled, the mroute table may note which groups fail RFP inspection.
