Forensics
The study of digital evidence resulting from a security incident. It involves collection, detection, and analysis pf digital data within an investigative process. The goal of forensics is to do a structured investigation and find out exactly what happened on a digital system, and who was responsible for it. Often, the results of a forensic investigation are used in criminal proceedings.
