Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) [State and County Codes]
A two-digit location code which indicates the U. S. geographic area (States, Territory, Offshore areas) affected by the EAS alert. The location codes are derived from the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) numbers as described by the U. S. Department of Commerce in the National Institute of Standards and Technology publication FIPS PUB 6-4.
