content provider
1. An organization that creates and maintains databases containing information from an information provider. Note: The content provider and the information provider may be the same organization.
2. The entity that owns or is licensed to sell content or content assets. Although the Service Provider is the primary source for the customer at home, a direct logical information flow may be set up between Content Provider and home customer — e.g., for rights management and protection.
