alternate carrier routing (ACR)

A special advanced intelligent network (AIN) feature supporting Government Emergency Telecommunications Service (GETS) calls. The feature automatically routes GETS calls to selected carriers to provide improved call completion probability during times of network congestion or damage during disasters or crises.
