A measure for the assurance that may be held in a Target of Evaluation, consisting of a reference to its security target, an evaluation level established by assessment of the correctness of its implementation and consideration of its effectiveness in the context of actual or proposed operational use, and a confirmed rating of the minimum strength of its security mechanisms [ITSEC].
